Graduated Opening

Starting this Wednesday (June 3), we will resume outdoor guided tours of the rolling stock collection. Space will be limited, and admission sales will be online only through FareHarbor. We are cautiously optimistic that that our tours will respect social distancing and be enjoyable given the new parameters we must embrace.

We ask that all guests wear masks and practice social distancing as we all take precautions against COVID-19.

Please park at the Frisco Discovery Center and meet your tour guide at the picnic tables just outside the Discovery Center entrance outdoors 5-10 minutes prior to your tour start time. We will not have access to the Discovery Center facilities at this point. All tours will take place outdoors.

Book online now!

John Garbutt our Director of Programs, and several of his dedicated volunteers, are looking forward to entertaining guests once again. John has been chomping at the bit for several weeks!

TrainTopia will remain closed for now, however we fully expect to open the indoor exhibit in the near future – perhaps on a limited basis at first. We will gauge response to the outdoor tours as well as follow the lead of the City of Frisco regarding access to the Discovery Center for its tenants.

Our decisions regarding openings are based on maintaining a healthy environment first and foremost. We must also ensure that we have adequate staffing to support that environment and also deliver a quality visitor experience. As you can imagine, our ability to raise much needed revenue will be a challenge with these priorities. We may have to make some adjustments along the way. Look for more details about our graduated opening soon.
